All McCarthyism movies are fascinating (
Guilty by Suspicion (1991) being my favorite). They test the limits of human morality and put you in the hero's shoes, but at the same time suffer from the "what if" question: what if this truly was a "witch"-hunting, and America would have gone Communist if nobody had intervened?
Trumbo, the story of probably the most famous black-listed Hollywood artist, is no less fascinating, and Cranston is almost unrecognizable in the role - but alas, the pitfall remains, the movie is just a story what happened and who said what, and offers nothing new.

Austin Powers and
Meet the Parents movies.
